For some years Les Baux de Provence, famous village of the Alpilles organizes at the end of September a grandiose historic reconstruction. The castle of Les Baux is the ideal decoration to stage the very numerous extras who participate in this show.
This year, it is not less than 700 people in costume who participated in this assault. The event is growing every year, and the assault of the castle is about to become the biggest medieval gathering of Provence !
For a weekend, the village of Les Baux de Provence goes back in time. For the edition 2009, a story was told us, that of the assault undergone in 1355 by the inhabitants of Les Baux de Provence. In this occasion, the troops attack the bulwarks of the fortress, the archers are of exit and the catapult also...
Throughout these two days timelesss, numerous animations are proposed to you. The life in the medieval time was rich and intense. Discover the secrets of the chemists and the cooking of the Middle Ages. Admire the shows of equestrian falconry and the skill of the archers. Have fun with the waders, musicians, jugglers, acrobats and the other acrobats who wonder in the streets of the village.
