Astronomy, conferences and exhibitions

For 2009 World Year of the Astronomy and for the science day, the Young economic Chamber of Avignon organizes on Satruday, November 21st, at the University of Avignon, a day dedicated to astronomy.

Reappointed speakers (M.CASSE, F.CASOLI) will come to talk us about stars and about last spatial discoveries. Different screenings will also be on the programme.

Local clubs from Vaucluse, Gard and bordering departments will participate in the animation. Companies will come to propose their products (Optics, photography). An itinerant planetarium will allow to discover to the guests constellations. Finally, different exhibitions will be foreseen.

This day is obviously opened to general public. Free entrance. From 9.30 am to 6.00 pm.

Astronomy and observation

From 8 pm, the public is invited to join us at the forum of LES ANGLES for a conference by G.CANNAT on the sky of night followed by an evening of observation with astronomers. The entrance is 5 euros / pers.

To note that a competition of photos is organized and rewarded the day of the demonstration. The subject is : " Sky and Sites of Provence ". Everybody can participate.
