Ferrassières

Departement of the Drôme
Population: 114 people (2005)

It is the village of the Drôme situated most in the South of the department. It is the XIII-th century that the inhabitants reconstructed this small village, after the destruction of their houses by looters, and it to continue to cultivate their lands.

Ferrassière is today a peaceful village of Provence surrounded with fields of lavender and of bories in border of plateau of Albion, under the blue sky. When one looks at the horizon, prospins then the Mountain Ventoux, the Mountain of Lure and Saint Pierre of Lagarde d´Apt. It is culture of the Provence for centuries, the inhabitants of Ferrassière celebrate it : 1-st Sunday of July during the Day of the Lavender which is renowned in all Provence.

- Castle of the Gabelle

This monument is a strong farm which dates XVII-th century, restored tastefully it contains a round tower and an engraved girder.
