The medieval castle

Aureille - 13930

Built in the XIIth century, the castle dominates the village. Today private property, this defensive fortification formerly belonged to the city of Arles.

In the XVIth century, due to numerous fights, the village was deserted and the castle destroyed in 1593.

In the XVIIIth century the village found life again. Today, we can admire the ruins of the castle.
