The church high of Bonnieux is perched on a rocky promontory at 425 metres above sea level, accessible by a staircase of 86 steps sheltered by cedar centenarians.
The oldest part of the east Romanesque church, the Chapelle Saint Saviour, and was built in XII century by the Knights Templar. The current general appearance of the building is Gothic.
This church is listed Historical Monument since 1980.
Today, it is used mainly for Sunday masses, ceremonies, weddings or funerals. It also welcomes few concerts during the summer.
